Let us share about our island, our homeland.  We are 240km separated by the Bass Strait to Mainland Australia and our capital is Hobart which also happens to be the second oldest Australian city.  Hobart sits on the banks of the Derwent River with the lofty peaks of Mt Wellington (Kunanyi ) rising up in the background.  There is plenty to see including each Saturday Salamanca Markets (8am -3pm) and Constitution Dock waterfront.

A guided or self drive exploration is the best way to explore Tasmania.  There are dense rainforests, mountain peaks, great lakes, amazing beaches like the white sand beach of Wineglass Bay, the world’s best little town, Strahan and the Tarkine Wilderness.

At Home Travel Company we have a not to be missed list:

*indulge yourself at the luxury coastal sanctuary, Saffire Freycinet

*Discover the bizarre and brilliant MONA in suburban Hobart

*get a behind the scenes experience at Raptor Refuge

*Tour the gourmet regions of Bruny Island and the Huon Valley

*Tee off at one of Australia’s top golf resorts, Barnbougle
