Warnemünde is a seaside resort and a district of the city of Rostock in Mecklenburg, Germany. It is located on the Baltic Sea and, as the name implies, at the estuary of the river Warnow – in a cruising sense it’s the gateway to the city of Berlin, Germany – a 3hr coach drive each way – Berlin was interrupted as a power house by two World Wars and a cold water but today it is on the rise again,. Remnants of the Berlin wall are preserved for posterity at the allied museum which is alongside Checkpoint Charlie.
